Maria Pergay

Place des Vosges
March 22 - 31, 2012

Demisch Danant is pleased to announce Maria Pergay: Place des Vosges, March 22-31. Maria Pergay will celebrate the 55th year of her career with this major exhibition which features over five decades of creation. Pergay will install the works as a living environment in a 17th century townhouse on Place des Vosges, which was also the location for Pergay's first public gallery more than fifty years ago.

Curated by Pergay herself and jointly organized by Demisch Danant, New York and JGM Gallery, Paris, the retrospective will bring together exceptional examples of furniture, lighting, and decorative objects featuring an extraordinary new design created expressly for the exhibition incorporating a 17th century slice of wood from Marie Antoinette’s famed gardens at Versailles. Highlights also include the Flying Carpet Daybed(1968), Coiffeuse Barbarella (1968), and Dining Table (2007).
