Mobilier national at the palace of Versailles

From 20 September to 11 December 2011, the Palace of Versailles presents an exhibition dedicated to the collections and designs of the Mobilier national, from the Royal Furniture Store under Louis XIV up to our day.

The exhibition – The palace of Versailles and the Mobilier national, four centuries of furniture design – will consist of two sections:

- the first section, in the setting of the Apartment of Madame de Maintenon, rounding off the visit to the Grand Apartments of the King and the Queen, will be devoted to the historical refurnishing of the Palace of Versailles that is being pursued through the active furniture deposit policy of the Mobilier national,

- the second section, to be held in the historical setting of the Apartments of the Dauphin and Dauphine, will present contemporary designs of the institution, mostly produced by the Research and Design Workshop founded in 1964 by André Malraux.
